Gypsy Lantern

Wow.... boy! Its been a while since I’ve been back here!

With April being the busiest month because it is the beginning of our School year and also because the school I work for runs a marketing campaign I have been literally run off my feet....add to that the hot and cold changeable weather that marks the beginning of Spring here in Japan making many of my kids (students) sick, I too have been run down by the cold train....

Consequently there has been little to nothing going on in my studio and although I'm not yet 100% I though would pop on in and post a few pictures of some work in progress......for a change of pace Lighting!

This light has been hand cut out of vegetan leather and is entirely hand stitched together with red thread.

The interesting thing about this lamp is it has also been constructed using a mirrored plastic which is completely opaque during the day but becomes transparent once the light inside is switched on revealing the inner red lining and also an inner landscape of reflected lights and...... Well best you check out the pictures rather  then have me waffle on about it......let me know what you think.
I have also started other lighting based on the same idea, so I will keep you posted on there progress.
